By the time the first bass hit of Miami 2 Ibiza exploded through the stadium, tens of thousands of fans had gathered in front of the stage. When a huge mirrored disc flipped around to reveal the band, it was pandemonium. Although plagued with technical issues, the hour-long set was a huge, emotional catharsis for the band.
Everybody was in tears," says Ingrosso. It was such an emotion, you could cut the energy with a scissor. It was the most intense I've ever felt. Well, according to Ingrosso, Swedish House Mafia actually made four albums that became one after writing 45 songs.
But, because of the pandemic, the Swedes had nothing but time. The one thing you can always count on is the fact we will never do anything half-arsed. The smouldering, cinematic and surprisingly menacing track was an instant smash when it was released in October, racking up over 40million streams in under two weeks. His voice and his way of writing music is incredible, and sonically we knew when our dark, melodic side met his, something interesting would happen.
